Can you keep up with an Underground Racing (UGR) Lambo?
Contributed By Enginebasics.com
So you just got off the dyno and are making 600/700/800, maybe even 900 WHP on your car. You’re feeling like the king of the world. You take the car out to your local hang out or track and quickly realize NOTHING is coming even close to your car. Your confidence is at an all time high when all of a sudden you come across an orange Lamborghini Gallardo and you think to yourself:
“ I am about to make this rich lambo owner look stupid”.
Oh my poor friend. You couldn’t be more wrong. Lets take a look at what happens when an estimated 650 whp BMW M-coupe running E85 and a GT40/88R turbo took a go at it on a highway in Mexico.
Now lets take a look at what happens when we take a 10 second Lotus super 7, and a 10 second E30 BMW and put them against a 1550 whp UGR lambo R package. THIS IS A LONG VIDEO, so if you just want to see the race from a dig skip to 2:58 in.
Want to see that lambo spank a 624 whp Evo 8 and the M-coupe again?
Moral of the story, those UGR lambo’s are NO JOKE. They are AWD, they shift lightening fast, and with 5.0L of displacement they make that power quick and hold it all the way to redline. Remember these cars are running Precision 6766 and 7168 Turbo’s. They run boost by gear but when in the higher gears will run a full 29 psi. They also have a redline that at 8k RPM gives them VERY long gearing. So why do these cars exist? To put all of our sub 1000 whp cars in perspective. Got some perspective now?
